Pebbles Of Diamond
I am deeply honored to have read the short autobiographies of 14 accomplished scientists, educators, and communicators, aged 63 to 90, and to be included among them.
Words cannot describe their achievements. It was a pleasure to explore their diverse childhoods, school and college days, academic journeys, professional lives, and the passion and perseverance that guided them, as well as their family lives and activities in retirement.
Whether you refer to them as the Joules of BARC, Jewels of BARC, or Pebbles of Diamond, these individuals shine brightly above these labels. This book serves as an inspirational guide for future generations, encouraging them to draw strength and direction from the stories within, regardless of the fields they choose.
I envision these 14 stars merging into a singular supernova, whose brilliance touches their families, friends, and the global community. I hope and pray this marks the beginning of a chain reaction that spreads the value of education and hard work around the world.
Among these luminaries, Dr. C. V. Krishnan has played a pivotal role in my journey to Thrissur's Vigyan Sagar Science and Technology Park in retirement, as well as in supporting his two charitable education initiatives, Sopaanam and Sreelakam Lifelong Learning Institute. IIis dedication and hard work to highlight the contributions of Dr. Bhaskaran Pillai, who devoted 67 years to Medical Physics and Physics Education, served as the catalyst in recognizing these 14 individuals. Without his commitment and enthusiasm this book would never have been published.
I am confident that anyone who reads these mini autobiographies will be inspired to address the challenges facing our world. These 14 stars are catalysts for future progress and innovation.
